  8. 3 tablespoon ghee
  9. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds(jeera)
  10. Pinch asafoetida
  11. 1 star anise
  12. 2 cardamom
  13. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  14. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  15. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  16. 5-6 black pepper
  17. 2 cloves
  18. To taste Salt
  19. 1 inch cinnemon
  20. 1 bay leaf
  21. 1 small bowl curd
  22. For Garnish:
  23. 6 slice Carrot
  24. 1/2 lemon
  25. 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  26. 1/4 tablespoon pomegranate
  27. 1 teaspoon spicy sev

Steps to make to make Chana Pulao

  1. Wash and Soak Chana,at least for 8 hours. And pressure cook with salt to taste and enough water. Drain the cooked Chana and keep aside.. Wash and soak basmati rice in water for at least 1 hour..after that rinse rice.cut all the vegetables..
  2. Heat ghee in kadai.add cumin seeds. Saute for few seconds.till they turn brown colour. Add asafoetida. Add cinnamon, cardamom, star anise,black pepper, bay leaf,cloves,. And saute for few seconds till it fragrant..add rinse rice and salt. Saute for 2-3 minutes..now add enough water. Cover and cook till the rice are done.and all the water is absorbed.
  3. Heat ghee in other kadhai. Add jeera, asafoetida and saute for few seconds.. add finely chopped vegetables, green garlic, spring onion,green chilli, ginger paste,capcicum, tomato.. saute for few minutes..now add boiled Chana, salt, turmeric powder,red chilli powder, garam masala,little salt,and mix properly..now cover the kadhai.and cook for 3-4 minutes.. and add chopped coriander. Mix well.
  4. Now add cooked basmati rice and mix properly..cover and cook for 4-5 minutes on law flame.
  5. Now Chana pulao is done. Finally garnish with carrot slice, coriander, half lemon.. serve with curd.(Add pomegranate seeds, spicy sev,and coriander leaves on curd for garnish)
  6. Now super tasty Chana pulao is ready to eat..
