Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Dahi vada Chaat:
- 1 cup Urad dal soaked
- 1/4 cup Moong dal soaked
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 green chillies
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 tsp Chopped coriander leaves
- For Soaking
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp black salt
- 1 tsp asafoetida
- 1 liter lukewarm water
- For Garnish
- 800 gm yoghurt beaten
- 1/4 cup Tamarind date chutney
- 1/4 cup Coriander mint green chutney
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- to taste Black salt
- 1 tsp Dry roasted cumin powder
- handful Sev
- 1 tsp Chaat masala powder
Steps to make to make Dahi vada Chaat
- Soak Urad daal and Moong dal for at least 4-5 hrs or overnight.
- Transfer the soaked dal to a food processor add green chillies and ginger. Blend it with 1/4 cup water. Make a smooth thick paste. Keep it aside in a mixing bowl.
- Now add chopped coriander leaves and salt and beat the batter for 5-6 minutes. Take a small ball of the batter and dip in a bowl of water.if it floats the batter is ready.
- Heat oil and drop a ball of batter and deep fry on medium flame until golden brown colour.
- In a separate bowl, add lukewarm water with sugar black salt, asafoetida. Once vada comes to room temperature soak the vadas into the salted water for 10-15 minutes. Strain out the vada and transfer into a plate.
- Now in a mixing bowl add yoghurt and beat well with 1/2cup water. Add salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin coriander, dry red chili powder and beat well. Now add vada into the beaten yoghurt mixture and soak it for 30 minutes in refrigerator.
- Now in a serving plate serve the chilled dahi vada with yoghurt mixture. Pour yoghurt mixture on top. Drizzle tamarind chutney green chutney. Garnish with roasted cumin -coriander -dry red chili powder, chaat masala powder, chopped coriander leaves, black salt and sev. Ready to enjoy.
